The milder air and a southeast wind caused mainly rain along the shoreline with very little sleet mixing in. Above freezing temperatures helped melt a lot of the snow on contact with paved surfaces. The exception was Litchfield County and some of our higher elevation areas where roads were snow covered (temps fell below freezing there). State Police say they responded to 100's of minor accidents during the storm.
