Mean E-mails

I would like to preface this by saying that I get a lot of really nice messages from people.  Every time I do, I get an extra skip in my step, it makes my day!

But every once in a while I get a nasty e-mail that bothers me for weeks. I know I'm supposed to have a thick skin being in the public eye...apparently mine is still growing in. People always ask me what kind of "mean" e-mails I get.  Here is the latest one!

Rachel,
We watch Fox news every night because we like to get the lottery results;unfortunately, you do the weather before the numbers are drawn and in are opinion and many other people we have spoken to you show far too much skin and find your clothing style very in appropriate for tv viewing especially if children happen to be watching. For example, the white dress you were wearing was far too short and also very unattractive. You are the only one on the broadcast who dresses this way.Take a look around at your co-workers and you might see what I am talking about. Time to grow up Rachel.

On another note, I'm super excited about the new "virtual studio" graphic I created!

Not usually one to comment or post up, but I thought this one was worth responding to, especially since it bothered you enough to share with the rest of us.

First of all, did you read the opening sentence where this woman writes that she watches the news because she likes to get lottery results? Seriously? From there forward, everything she writes should be suspect.

She then confirms she is a moron when she writes "are" rather than "our" opinion...and then continues with the remainder of her rambling, semi-intelligible garbage.

Not to stereotype, but I also don't put much weight in the fashion opinion of a habitual lottery player. You ever see the degererates playing their "numbers" at the local convenience store? I would bet this woman's lottery winnings that her wardrobe was purchased at Kohl's, not Bloomingdales.

And finally, what better testament to your look and style than being asked to host the Miss CT competition?

You have something like 4,000 fans on Facebook, and no doubt a whole lot more. Just keep smiling and doing what you are doing.

Jay you really nailed it in the beginning, but there is nothing Kohls man, clothes are clothes. Its that type of uppity arrogance is why people hate connecticut. If you but clothes to walk around with a label, you need to put some serious time retooling your life. Obviously the person who took the time to put down such negative thoughts has nothing better to do than watch the lottery being drawn.

As for the main reason we are here, I specifically watch fox news for Rachel's forecast because i can trust her forecast and she always shows love for the farmers and how they can plan their week! She is the most beautiful woman in broadcasting and looks great every night. There is no way 1) that dress is too short, and 2) that kids are up watching the news late at night. Aren't they watching pokemon or that really crappy remake of looney toons. haha

Anyway keep on doing what you do best Rachel, its too bad that someone would take the time out of their day to not only show how unintelligent they are and to ruin someones day.

Rachel: I think you are one of the most tasteful and classiest dressed female broadcasters on local OR network television. There's not one thing that I would change about you. You ALWAYS look BEAUTIFUL! I actually look forward to seeing what you will be wearing with each forecast. PLUS your weather reporting is very knowledgeable, insightful and understandable and you have a pleasant demeanor. Stay the course young lady....you're doing a GREAT JOB! :)

We aren't necessarily fans of Fox61, but we do tune in occasionally to get our local weather and enjoy watching your forecasts. One question that we do have is where do you get your outfits from? It's become somewhat of a conversation piece here and while it seems like a silly question, it would settle some bets and perhaps lead to a free dinner. At least you don't dress like the Lutzker - can someone please explain that one? Why do I feel like I'm watching an old episode of Good Times or The Jeffersons when she appears on screen?

I'm so glad to hear you enjoy my forecasts!! Thank you. I wear clothing from a lot of different stores! My favorites are Macy's (Tahari brand) Bebe and Pretty Woman Boutique (really cheap, but you need to dig through a lot of ugly stuff to find the gems). So who won the bet?

Thanks for the response! I guess we kinda broke even on the bet. Regardless,we'll have a toast in your honor. Keep up the good work!

I had to laugh at that email. Rachel, you are a beautiful woman and nothing about the way you dress is inappropriate. Thank you for your weather reporting every day and keep up the good work.

People should just worry about themselves instead of throwing barbs at someone. O have no problem with how you dress because you are very attractive and do a very good job of giving the weather to us. isn't that all you need to do? I don't check out if you dress code detracts from the actual job.
