Irene Poses A Major Threat To Connecticut

In a previous blog post I told you that the models were shifting east with every run. I hoped they would continue on that trend. But our luck ran out. Yesterday some of the models began pushing the storm back west. Other models I trust began following suit.

The storm is taking a similar track to Hurricane Gloria but it's moving much slower. That can create additional storm surge problems, especially with astronomically high tide on Sunday.

We need to get ready for a hurricane here in Connecticut for Sunday with 75+ mph winds, 5"-10" of rain, numerous power outages. Make sure you have enough non perishable food to get you through a week without power. Get your boats out of the water.

The exact track of Irene is unclear. But no matter where she hits here in southern New England, we are going to feel some major effects.
