Wednesday is mostly sunny and chilly with a gusty northwest wind. There is an elevated risk of brush fires due to the combination of dry air, dry brush and gusty winds. Brush fires are more common in spring before grass and other vegetation come in. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect and may get upgraded to a Red Flag Warning during the day tomorrow.
Ready for spring? Temperatures will jump back into the 50s on Thursday with blue skies. Clouds will increase on Friday with the chance for showers late day as a storm slides to our south. The weekend looks great with partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 50s to near 60 degrees.
The weather pattern responsible for the cool air in March (30th coolest on record) is showing signs of reversing. The end of next week and the third week of April look promising with the NAO turning positive again! This is when we’ll likely see our first truly mild days of the year. I know it’s not coming fast enough for some of you. But at least there is something to look forward to.
