A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 PM for
Hartford and Litchfield Counties. An approaching cold front will trigger some showers
with an isolated strong storm north and west of Hartford. The ingredients for severe weather are coming
together in northern New England more than they are here in Connecticut. So it’s not a major concern tonight. After
midnight skies will clear and temperatures will drop down around the 50 degree
mark.
Sun returns tomorrow and sticks around through the weekend! Another change you’ll notice on Thursday is a more comfortable and refreshing air mass. The past few days have felt a bit muggy. But tonight’s cold front is washing the moisture away. High pressure will take over with temperatures warming up into the 80s for inland areas this weekend, 70s along the shore. The next chance for rain is Monday and Tuesday of next week. Allergy sufferers beware. One downside to the dry weather is a boost in pollen levels.
