There is a battle going on between high pressure over the
northeast and the remnants of tropical storm Karen moving up the east coast. Which
one will win? It’s a tough forecast. The
faster a weather system moves, the easier it is to predict. But this storm is barely moving thanks to an
omega block which you can think of as a traffic backup in the atmosphere.
Here’s our best assessment of the forecast right now. On
Wednesday dry air holds its ground with sunshine filtered by high clouds.
Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 60s. Clouds will lower and
thicken up at night into Thursday. Here’s where the forecast gets tricky. Right
now it looks like the storm will get just close enough to bring a few showers
late Thursday into Friday. But it’s a close call!
For now, plan for showers late week and we’ll keep you posted
on any changes. I’m just thankful it’s
not January and we’re not talking about dry weather versus plowable snow!
