Forecast Discussion:
Saturday will offer a little relief from the bitter
cold. Temperatures will approach 40
degrees which is still well below average for this time of year. A warming trend will get underway on Sunday. A
few showers will touch off late Saturday night with the arrival of the milder
air. For most of the state this will not
be an issue. But for some towns in the northwest hills, temps could drop close
to freezing creating a few slippery spots.
Sunday is dry and milder with high temperatures around 50
degrees! Rain arrives Sunday night into
Monday morning, some heavy at times. Rain tapers to scattered showers by Monday
afternoon. Temps will soar into the low
60s! Cooler air arrives by the middle of next week.
The same front that will bring back the cold on Wednesday
will also be a point of concern as a wave of low pressure develops along
it. Depending on how close to the coast the storm
develops, Connecticut could be looking at rain/snow. It’s too soon to say for sure. But we’ll keep
an extra close eye on it, especially as Wednesday is one of the biggest travel
days of the year!
