Our five day heat wave started today and the worst heat is yet to come! Thursday and Friday will feature a dangerous combination of heat and humidity. And I don’t use the word “dangerous” loosely. An excessive heat watch is in effect for Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties for heat indicies of 105 degrees or greater. Actual temps will be in the mid and upper 90s inland (maybe even triple digits). Stay cool! You know the drill, wear light colored loose fitting clothing, drink plenty of liquids (water, not beer/soda, sorry) and avoid prolonged exposure in the sun. Also, make sure your pets have access to plenty of water. Personal doggie floatation devices optional. ;)
Thanks to my facebook buddy Chris Z. and dog Cinder for the P.S.A.
