Mild Start To the First Weekend Of Spring

The first weekend of spring will get off to a mild start and a cold finish. Saturday will start off mostly cloudy with the chance for a passing shower through midday.  Then some clearing will take place in the mid-late afternoon with temperatures soaring into the 50s.  Sunday will be about 15 to 20 degrees colder with partly to mostly sunny skies. Mid winter cold arrives Monday.

A monster coastal storm will be the focus of our attention Tuesday and Wednesday.  Is it a hit or a miss? This is a high stakes forecast.  This storm will have the ability to produce damaging wind and heavy rain/snow, wherever it tracks. After looking at the latest data, it seems a direct hit is becoming less likely as the models have shifted the storm farther east, offshore.  Is a jog in the track closer to the coast still possible? Yes.  It’s also still possible that the storm continues to trend out to sea and misses. But for now a glancing blow is the most likely scenario, sparing Connecticut the worst of this storm. Keep an eye on the forecast over the weekend as we get a better handle on things.

Tonight: Clear start, increasing clouds. Low: 24-32

Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy with the chance for a shower through midday. Some clearing in the afternoon. Mild! High temperatures in the 50s!

Sunday: Partly to mostly sunny, breezy and colder. High temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Monday: Cold despite plenty of sunshine. High temperatures in the lower to middle 30s.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds, chance for snow in the afternoon (depending on the track of a coastal storm). High temperatures in the mid to upper 30s.

Wednesday: Cloudy, chance for snow. High temperatures in the mid to upper 30s.
